A favourite among families with children
Forum Istanbul makes a difference with its customer services, particularly for families with children to spend a comfortable and pleasant day. In addition to the strollers that can be obtained free of charge from the information desks, there are seven baby care rooms with diaper vending machines, microwave ovens and baby bottle heaters where mothers can breastfeed their babies, and look after them. The eight family rooms inside the mall have been designed for the toilet care requirements of families with small children. At the food court, baby feeding chairs, microwave ovens and baby bottle heaters are available. Forum Istanbul also offers educational entertainment for children at Sihirli Eller Children’s Club while their parents enjoy shopping.
Services for physically challenged individuals
Forum Istanbul offers wheelchairs available for visitors who are sick and physically challenged, specially designed public phones within the mall, elevators for moving between floors, and lavatories with special designs for the physically challenged, at each level. In order to facilitate social access for visually impaired persons and to make it easier for them to access any area they wish, Forum Istanbul’s special services for the visually impaired is a first in Turkey. The yellow guides outside, the warning signs inside, Braille signs at the entrance of all areas and stores, customer services booklet written in the Braille alphabet, RF signs to help find directions, white canes and audio colour defining devices are offered for the use of the visually impaired.
Architecture and art at Forum Istanbul
The iconic structures, impressive dome, vast alleys of Forum Istanbul have all been designed to offer a rich experience for visitors. Many components influenced by the local architecture can be found at Forum Istanbul. The colours used reflect the shades of the sea and the hues of spices, with references to Istanbul. Components such as domes, courtyards, oriels are all indicators of Turkish architecture.
There are permanent works of art at Forum Istanbul, as in all Forum Malls operated by Multi Development Turkey. The massive iron gate by Turkish sculptor Hanefi Yeter, named “Gate to the World” opens a gate to the world of shopping as well. The work called “Energy” by the Russian artist Daria Bokareva, produced for the 1st International Sculptures Symposium, is also part of the landscaping in Forum Istanbul. Various lighting components within the mall blend function and aesthetics with their designs.
